Irish singer Sinead O’Connor has been reported missing and police in Chicago are currently searching for her. Police in Wilmette are “are seeking to check the well-being” of the famous 49-year-old artist, according to a press release.
O’Connor was reported missing more than a day a go after a bicycle ride at 6:00 AM local time on Sunday and has not been seen since. There is no more information available at present.
The troubled singer has seen personal problems and controversy take the limelight throughout her career, especially after cancelling her world tour in 2012 citing the cause as a “serious breakdown.”
The Nothing Compares 2 U singer infamously tore up a photograph of Pope John Paul II during a live TV broadcast on the U.S. programme Saturday Night Live, causing over 500 complaints in a single night.
Last week she also made the headlines after accusing comedian and Coming to America actor Arsenio Hall of supplying drugs to Prince, who was found dead in an elevator shaft last month.
